Park rangers have a range of duties
Santa Clara County Park ranger Ali Famalett covers more than 10,000 acres in popular Calero and Almaden Quicksilver county parks.
Although she has seasonal tasks that must be completed, she never knows what any given day will bring.
“That’s one of the things I love about my job,” she says.
So, what do rangers do besides law enforcement? A lot. Check out this video, in which Famalett shows the amazing variety of gear she keeps in her truck at all times.
To see what’s happening in the County parks this fall, go to the department’s Facebook page.

Park ranger Ali Famalett, left, lets a youngster try on her firefighting helmet. “It smells like smoke!” the little girl said.
