Outing buoys spirits of hundreds living with spinal cord injury
Hundreds of people with spinal cord injury (SCI) or traumatic brain injury (TBI) gathered at Vasona Lake County Park this summer for an unforgettable day of paddling, picnicking and playing.
Put together by the Rehabilitation Center staff at Valley Medical Center, in coordination with the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department, the day of adaptive adventures for people with disabilities was a smash hit, as proved on this video made by norcalsci.org and on the Rehabilitation Center’s Facebook page.
Plans are already underway for another one next year. We’ll have some additional news on this year’s event soon. Keep an eye out for it.
