Most Santa Clara County offices closed for July 4th
As residents anticipate fireworks, Santa Clara County offices mostly closed for Independence Day.
Most offices of the County of Santa Clara will be closed Monday in observance of Independence Day.
Normal business resumes Thursday, July 5.
Most County workers will be joining other Americans in celebration of the 242nd anniversary of the nation’s founding — the day the Declaration of Independence was signed by the Founding Fathers. But essential services will remain active.
The public safety agencies such as the Sheriff’s Department and the jail staff will be on duty, as will the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, though not for routine services.
Parks and campgrounds will be open as usual.
The County reminds you to be mindful of safety. That means no drinking and driving (or boating). It means designating someone to keep an eye on swimmers. It means enjoy fireworks the safe way. Finally, try to stay cool and hydrated.
